A hilarious, heartfelt, and musical twist on the Arthurian legend, where destiny isn't about who you're supposed to be, but who you truly are.
When a clumsy magical curse prevents the headstrong Lady Esme Drayton from helping with the Christmas decorations, little does she know it's a sign of a far greater destiny. Her quiet life in the eccentric town of Ealing is turned upside down with the arrival of King Arthur and his knights, who are on a quest to find the legendary Firebird and the fabled Twelfth Knight—the one prophesied to defeat a great evil.
But the court is full of secrets and schemes. The villainous Morgana Le Fey and her delightfully dim nephew Mordred plot to usurp the throne using a misplaced love potion, while the bumbling but well-meaning Sir Lancelot is searching for a wife. To pursue her dream of becoming a knight, Esme swaps clothes and identities with her best friend, the gentle Ivor Sideways, and becomes Lancelot's new squire, "Kevin."
Their quest leads them into an enchanted forest, a magical cave, and a final confrontation with the terrifying Dark Lord. Along the way, they discover that the true "Twelfth Knight" was among them all along, and that courage, love, and heroism come in many forms. With a supporting cast including a wise-cracking cook, a lovesick scullery maid, a wizard conserving his magic, and a chicken that might just be a phoenix, this riotous adventure proves that sometimes the greatest magic is being true to yourself.
